Usually, when looking for a compact, or even more, a little video projector, you usually get to see a pico. Although it is basically a minimized version of a full sized projector, it doesn’t even by far provide the same image quality and efficiency. UO might just have sorted out this problem by offering an image projecting gadget that’s small but, despite its size, delivers HD projections.

Unlike other pico projectors that use dim LEDs to provide and image, UO uses a laser diode that drives the LCOS engine. In other words, the image provided by UO is bright enough to please the eye, and, given its 720p HD capability, also clear and sharp enough. It works well for watching multimedia files such as movies and video clips. Also, given its laser diode system, there is no need for manual focus adjustment. It is focused on any distance, providing the sharpest image at all times. Also, using Class 1 lasers, UO is harmless to human eyes. When it comes to connectivity, UO Smart Beam Laser can be accessed wirelessly by devices using Miracast or DLNA. Also, an HDMI port is available in order to connect laptops, tablets or other compatible multimedia devices.

UO features an integrated speaker to provide sound when there is no available third party sound device. The 4200 mAh battery is supposed to hold on for two hours. The brightness of the laser diode is rated at 60 lumens, or twice as much as a regular pico projector. Also, one must know that laser emitted light is perceived higher than the one of a regular pico with 60 lumens. UO Smart Beam Laser is basically a 2.2 inch cube. It is small enough to fit in a bag and be carried around easily and then pulled out when needed.
