Sometimes, a radical change isn’t the solution to an exhilarating product. Instead, slight changes to an already iconic piece may take the world by surprise and cause mayhem – in a good way.

And that’s exactly what Nike did with the Shattered Backboard Air Jordan 1.

There have been three iterations of the sneakers celebrating MJ’s 1985 dunk that shattered the glass backboard. Here’s a quick throwback to the moment that rests with each and every NBA fan.

For the second iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Glass, Nike only switch color placement, without any other change to the sneaker construction. It sold out in just a day, and resellers pumped prices up to $1000 a pair.

The story continues: 3.0

Nike has unveiled plans to release the Air Jordan Shattered Backboard 3.0 sometime during October 2019. It appears that the brand will switch between red and orange once more.

If we are to consider the huge impact the sneaker had in its previous iterations, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Air Jordan Shattered Backboard 3.0 will blow up and sell even before having the chance to properly sit on the shelf.
