A Fresh Perspective Of Time In Evolution
The way we got to observe and analyze how time gives us shape is very different than what it used to be a couple of hundred years ago. The motion, the continuous evolution is a structure well conceptualized in our minds, but most of the time not before our eyes to see.
This is what the Tel Aviv based Studio Ve is here to do for us, give a new meaning to the way we see time revolving in cycles around, again and again, cycles which vary one from each other. What a better start for us to understand this idea other than by clocks?
Clocks are our interface with the dimension of time. It’s through them that we understand our passage on planet Earth. They propose to us a new way of doing it. Through Perspective Clocks, a collection of five different clocks branded under the „Perspective” series. When we say different, we mean it in all kinds of way. They look different and function different, giving a personalized experience. The result is always the same, you know.
Inspirational, Amazing, Simply Beautiful
The company started around as a Kickstarter project and it developed ever since. The idea of this project arose as a way of being playful around with the tools they already had available. Which says a lot about their imagination given the fact that when I look at the final product I am simply amazed.
Check them out, take a look at a pictures and visit the guys’ website. You can choose the D Clock, a reminder that things may differ from various points of view. There is the K Clock, a tribute paid to the systematic movement our Universe is based on. It is my personal favorite, „the hour and minute arms of the K are two complex assemblies of straight lines. They converge to a point that represents the location of the hand” the authors say about it. Then there is the P Clock that „bursts from inside”, the Z and the V.
They way every model is built with the arms giving reason for each other to move forward is an example of genuine innovation. Their intricate shapes make them look not only complex, but even smart.
