There is something entertaining yet calming about seeing the laws of physics being broken in a gentle manner. LeviZen teases gravity with a liquid levitator.
Designed as a desk ornament, LeviZen lets you see water levitating in zero gravity. The feat is achieved by using sound waves outside our hearing spectrum.
Water almost always takes the shape of the vase it is poured into. However, when levitating, you can see its true shape. Even water drops are shaped by gravity. LeviZen takes gravity out of the equation, giving an untamed form of the water bit.
Two spot leds are placed strategically in the levitator base to brighten up the scene. The view is mesmerizing, especially in a dark, quiet room. LeviZen may be used for meditation or just to relax your eyes for a few minutes after intensively concentrating on work.
According to Simplistyk (the company behind LeviZen), the levitator is designed to be aesthetically pleasant and worthy of any desk. The combination of walnut and machined aluminum with manual finishing gives a pleasant view.
The three control switches look as retro as possible and are placed alongside a 7-segment display that shows the power level. If you’re not careful, you may take the control box as a vintage audio amplifier – which is exactly what the designers aimed for.
LeviZen can levitate not only water, but pretty much any liquid. However, depending on the density of the liquid, you need to adjust the power of the levitator via the integrated aluminum knob.
