Every petrolhead thinks about the BMW M-Series every single time rear wheel drive or drifting is added to discussion. And this is happening for good reason: the German automaker made a name for itself in terms of motorsport performance and general pumped-up road vehicles. You are probably ten times more likely to see an M5 drifting in a parking lot rather than a Mercedes Benz E63 AMG. Even so, Carbonfiber Dynamics took a BMW M4 and turned it into an even bigger beast: a 700HP BMW M4R.

Roided-up but lightweight

The German brand put all their expertise at work  to create a more aerodynamic bodykit, featuring carbon fiber diffuser, carbon front lip and adjustable rear wing. Surface pressure has been increased on the front axle, creating more downforce and better sticking the car to the road. The „standard” M4 suspension has been replaced by a CANBUS controlled Burger Motorsport JB4 unit.

Not only the outside of the M4 has been reworked; the engine also features 8 performance maps, ranging from everyday use to full-blown track mode. Aluminum charge pipes with a meth (Methanol Injection) kit and a bigger turbocharger from TurboEngineers have been mounted to boost up performance figures. Gases are pushed out through a titanium built exhaust by Akrapovic, reducing weight by 40% compared to a steel counterpart.

Power!

On the overall, the M4R outputs 600HP at 1.3 bars of turbo pressure. However, pushing air into the engine at 2.3 bars lifts the bar on the dyno up to 700HP. At least the amount of power compensates for the rather strange vinyl choice, but that’s just our opinion.
