It’s Monday morning, and you might have a really nasty hangover waiting to kick in as soon as you wake up. Fortunately, you can get a cup of coffee right when the alarm starts pounding against your eardrum. Industrial designer Josh Renouf developed Barisieur, an alarm clock that brews a cup of coffee right when you wake up, easing the transition to a new day.

Load it up

Barisieur coffee clock looks like a refined timekeeping piece to place on your night drawer. On top, there is the coffee making mechanism including the cup and a bearing ball system to wake you up smoothly through metallic sounds. In order to make it work, you only need to remember filling up the sugar and coffee tray of the watch with products of your choice.

It will help you fall asleep

According to its designer, making a daily habit out of filling your Barisieur watch tray with coffee and milk will create a Pavlovian response, the process letting your body know it’s time to sleep. Supposedly, you will become relaxed and fall asleep easier. That’s something we’ll have to check on our own.
