Building something to look like it’s from the next era isn’t an easy task anymore. Just look at all the cutting edge technology we’ve embedded into our cars, homes and sometimes even ourselves (Google Glasses, that’s you). Shutting the door on conventional design, Bandit9 took a classic 1967 Honda Super Sport 125 and gave it an alien spaceship design.

Nicknamed AVA, this futuristic platform design aims to provide something that many felt the motorcycle industry was missing: a restart. Dipping stainless steel into a chrome bath resulted in a liquid finish like we’ve seen in Terminator movies.

There are no gaps from the start to end of the body. Impossible to be built by machine, the body has been developed manually from a single piece of metal. The result is near-perfection detailing and incredibly well formed shapes.

The 125cc engine is fully exposed by the frame. According to producers, it was quite a challenge to make the mechanical square to fit within the prolonged, flowing lines of the unibody and handle. However, using body paneling as an airbox and adding a minimalistic exhaust muffler, the engine looks as it belongs there.

The engine is also one of the elements that give a futuristic aspect to this bike. Since it is basically hanging from the body, it creates a great deal of negative space and provides a feeling of being thrusted forward even when the bike is at rest.
