Feeling special at work should be a primary concern in the modern world that the modern man lives in. Not at all in the girly kind of way, you have to be respected, you have to turn heads around when you walk in the office, you can’t be just that same guy that comes in, gets the job done and leaves, like, if he would disappear and no one would remember his face. Clothes are a big part of this, they’re a statement, a way to express who you really are and why you should be the one standing out of the ordinary. So feel free to experiment, combine various elements of fashion all while respecting the imposed dress code for a day at work. Here are some alternatives to the boring, oh so boring office days.

1. Stay sharp

Swap the plastic poly suit for a special mix of wool or cotton, always in fashion, as they never stay too much out of line. This kind of two-piece offers a fresh approach to your casual Monday morning. For colors, go for navy, grey or brown, paired with a blue or white cotton shirt.

2. Tradition reinvented

The way our forefathers dressed was much cooler, let’s admit. So why not try and make it look awesome today? You ask if it’s possible? Be convinced, all we need is a little piece of imagination, a three-piece something grey or light brown and you’ll look dapper and ready to impress.

3. Chic and crisp

Let’s get things a little less formal. Let’s switch to the double-breasted, earthy colored jacket, with cotton trousers in neutral nuances, with a definite drop of formality when it comes to shirts. Get them light and feel free to experiment right here. A little creativity could go a long way.

4. Creative casual

Denim and jacket. Yes, a possible combination, a way to let everybody know that you’re always ready to come out of any trouble, because you’re versatile and adaptive. Go for single-breasted jacket, not boot-cut jeans, wide check shirt, but make them all plain, motifs should be out of the way here. Never let anything other than suede touch your feet while at this.

5. Urban is for underrated

Don’t feel judged if you’re feeling like lightweight linen, summer wool or an active jersey fabric for your office apparel. The innovation here are the kicks, make sure they’re fit for your dress code and don’t abuse the details. Everything should be fine, a sport-inspired business look is not to be underestimated. Also, look to bring socks or a tie with you.
