Cast members from the first Peter Jackson trilogy offered their support for the players after two actors from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, specifically Ismael Cruz Cordova and Lenny Henry, said they had experienced racist internet harassment.
Elijah Wood, who portrayed Frodo Baggins in the trilogy, posted a picture with Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took co-stars Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd on September 7.
The performers are all dressed in special shirts that say “You Are All Welcome Here” in Elvish and include ears of the various races from Middle-earth in a range of skin tones.

On September 7, actor Sean Astin, who portrayed Samwise Gamgee, shared a picture of himself wearing a similar hat.
Don Marshall created the clothing, which can be purchased on the artist’s website with 50% of the revenue going to “a charity that supports POC.”
Additionally, Córdova and Henry got encouragement from their own cast members, who on September 7 shared a message on Córdova’s Instagram.
This outpouring of support comes a week after Cordova, who portrays Arondir in the Prime Video series, complained to Esquire that he had been subjected to harassment on social media that consisted primarily of “pure and vicious hate speech.” it was created back in 2012.
Córdova and Henry’s accounts coincide with recent remarks made by House of the Dragon actor Steve Toussaint.
Following the announcement of his casting, the actor who plays Corlys Velaryon in the HBO epic experienced similar internet harassment.
