Looking for a little inspiration? Is the daily grind getting you down? Are you itching for something new? Then, you’re the perfect candidate for change.

Inspiration is the rocket fuel that our creative juices need to conjure up weird and wonderful ideas and realities. If you find yourself doing the same thing every day, you understand how frustrating the daily grind can be.

It’s no fun simply going through the motions – we all want to live life to the full, experience everything it has to offer, and maximize our time with friends, relatives, and loved ones. Here are 30 new things you can do today to make your life better:

1. Reach Out to Your Folks – it’s so easy to get caught up in your work that you forget
to stay in touch with your parents. Stop what you’re doing, and call mom and dad.
Your parents will appreciate the call and you will feel much better for having made it.

2. Ditch the Car and Hop on a Bike – while we all appreciate the convenience of our
gas guzzling machines, they don’t really do much for our physical health. Whenever
possible, hop on your bicycle, and go for a ride. You’ll feel wonderful afterwards, and
it’s lots of fun to do.

3. Be Sure to Tip Your Server – if you’re the type of person who typically doesn’t give
more than a 5% or 10% tip on the bill, try upsizing today. Give a 20% or 25% tip
when you eat out and make someone else’s day.

4. Pay It Forward – Do you plan on visiting McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, or
Starbucks today? How about paying the bill of the person behind you? This is one of
the most incredible things you can do, and you’ll be surprised by the domino effect it
creates. A wonderful day is coming for everyone.

5. Go for a Chrome Dome Look – this option is best suited to the guys. Take
your electric shaver and cut your own hair. You’ll save around $20, and if you like it
you’ll be doing it for many years to come.

6. Live in the Moment – it doesn’t matter what happened yesterday, that’s history.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, so live in the moment. Appreciate everything
that you have and everyone who is with you. An attitude of gratitude!

7. Set a Target for Your Next Birthday – what 10 things do you plan to achieve before
you turn 40, 50, or 60? Now, go out there and make it happen. It all begins today!

8. Write down 5 Things That Are Annoying You Today – This is an interesting one.
Take 5 scraps of paper and write down one thing that annoys you on each piece of
paper. Fold these pieces of paper up, put them in an envelope and dump the envelope
in the trash. You’re off to a fresh start!

9. Reverse your Meals – try this one out for size: have breakfast at dinner, and dinner at breakfast. For lunch, have dessert!

10. Get an Early Start to the Day – why fight the traffic today when you can wake up
an hour early and enjoy a stress-free day? Try it – it really works!

11. Try Solving a Puzzle Today – get locked and loaded on your Android smartphone
with a game like Bubble Shooter. Be the star of the show as you pop bubbles with
bombs and rockets and achieve unprecedented success in the virtual world. Sounds
like fun – it is!

12. Plan to Spend No Money This Weekend – this one’s a lot of fun too, since it
requires out-of- the-box thinking. If you live near the beach, you’re already halfway
there. Otherwise, consider long walks, bike rides, picnics at the park, local museums,
nature trails, or simply staying at home and enjoying a weekend in. It’s possible!

13. Frame Your Favourite Digital Pictures – most of your pictures are stored up in the
cloud, or your hard drive. Try printing some of these pictures, framing them and
enjoying them. Another option is a digital photo frame that circulates these pictures
for you.

14. Put a Message in a Bottle – here’s an idea that awakens the adventurer in every one of us! Write a message to somebody you miss and place it in a safely sealed bottle.
Now, let it sail away down the river, or in the ocean. Just like the movie – Message in
a Bottle!

15. Donate your Unwanted Clothes to Goodwill – what’s the point of having clothing
that never gets worn when there are people desperate for it? Do some spring cleaning
and put all your unwanted clothing items in a basket and take them to Goodwill.
16. Watch Something Funny Online – Laugh out loud until your sides hurt. Laughter is the best way to fill up your day.

17. Put on a Superhero Costume and Walk around the Mall – A word of caution is
advised: this may not be the smartest thing to do if you happen to bump into people you know such as your employers, or colleagues. However, if you’re feeling particularly bold and daring, why not dress up like Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, or the Wolverine? If nothing else, it’s good for a laugh!

18. Sleep Naked – this is probably something that you’ve already done at some point in
your life, but it’s worth doing again. It’s liberating and lots of fun!

19. Set Some Random Address in Your GPS – this is about as wild as it gets folks!
Conjure up a couple of numbers and a street address, and program your GPS to take
you there. Hopefully you don’t end up on the wrong side of the tracks.

20. Go out to the Store and Purchase Birthday Cards – nowadays, most people receive
birthday messages in their email inbox, not their snail mail inbox. Wish your friends
and family a happy birthday and mail off the envelopes at the appropriate time. This
unexpected act of kindness will make people happy.

21. Plant Some Flowers in Your Yard – this is a great idea if you’re looking to spruce
up your home. There’s nothing like beautiful flowers to put a smile on your dial.

22. Eat Organic Produce Today – ditch the pre-processed foods, fast foods, and soggy
sandwiches in your lunchbox. Got to the local farmers market and pick something
fresh off the shelf, wash it and chow down.

23. Power up your Gas Grill and Invite Your Friends Over – we either eat out, or we
cook on the stove top. But today, why not cook outdoors on your grill? Invite some
friends or relatives and enjoy the experience.

24. Try Writing with the Other Hand – this is extremely challenging and will probably
relegate your writing to the status of a pre-schooler. Why not try it – it’s something
new!

25. Taste Something New – we all have our likes and dislikes. However, if you taste
something new you may just enjoy it.

26. Rearrange your bookshelf – chances are your bookshelf hasn’t been rearranged for
years. The books are probably full of dust, and in desperate need of cleaning. Maybe
you’ve got other books to slot into the shelf?

27. Say Hello to Your Neighbour – in the old days, this was never an issue. Today,
hardly anyone talks to their neighbours. You may just make a friend of the person
living closest to you!

28. Swap Clothing with Your Friends – why buy when you can exchange? Your friends
probably have cool styles and fashions that you like, and vice versa.

29. Attend a Community Event – there are plenty of events taking place in your
neighborhood. Simply sign up, or attend at your leisure.

30. Speak Your Mind – how many times have you simply been dumped on because you never spoke your mind. Try doing this in a proactive way and you’ll be surprised by the results.
